Semester grades are continuous over the two quarters and start over at the beginning of 2nd semester. Quarter grades are not averaged.
Help outside of Class: Flex time (B Days in lab C8) & After School (just need to request ahead of time to arrange a meeting location)
Make Up Work: When there is an unexpected excused absence for a test or project, students have one week to it make up. Students must make up the exam or assignment outside of class time. It is the student's responsibility to arrange the time for a make-up exam. If you know you are going to be absent ahead of time please get the work and/or take the test ahead of time.
Late work is not accepted unless a student sends an email by the due date and asks for an extension. They then will have two weeks to turn in the assignment. There are no extensions granted once the due date has passed. This counts for homework and Excel Labs.
Exam & Quiz Retakes
Exams and quiz retakes will be given during flex time up till two weeks before the end of the grading period. Students may retake exams if they meet the following criteria:
- Come to flex time or after school and go over exam you want to retake
- Test corrections from the first test are completed.
- It is within the 3 week deadline
The score on the retake will stand as the official grade even if it is lower than the original grade. The retake period officially ends two weeks before the end of each semester.
Communication
The best way to communicate with me outside of class time is by email, dmella@pps.net, or a message through canvas, or Remind.
Academic Integrity
Any form of academic dishonesty, is grounds for disciplinary action. See Student Responsibilities, Rights and Discipline Handbook for details.
