ASSIGNMENT: PREVIZ
- Due No Due Date
- Points 50
- Submitting a file upload
Refer to slide 3 (keyframing) and slides 6-10 (sound) in the Animation info slides if you need a refresher.
Previz
In Blender, animate your full movie script. For this draft, you will be submitting the .blend file, not a rendered version, so you don't need to worry about lighting and camera angles.
GRADED:
- positions of characters are animated
- dialogue and sound effects are added in the right spots
- enough detail is added that I can tell what's going on
NOT GRADED (this time):
- character modeling (feel free to use a cylinder as a human, for example, and maybe a smaller or different color cylinder for another human)
- background modeling (feel free to use a cube or a few planes to represent a building, or a cone to represent a tree)
- rigging
- cool special effects (hair, water...)
- camera work
- lighting
- rendering
- title sequence
- credits
Peer Grading
You will be peer grading 3-5 other previz(es?) during the finals period. Your comments will be visible to the creators. Your feedback should be useful information for them to consider when they create their animated short.
Be sure to both:
leave a thoughtful comment about the previz (your opinion about what they did well, as well as (gently) your ideas about what they could improve)
complete the attached rubric for that previz
Rubric
Please include a title
Keep in mind that 8 students have already been assessed using this rubric. Changing it will affect their evaluations.
