To open Stencyl, look for an icon like this: You might see the icon on your desktop or taskbar.
If you DON'T see the icon anywhere, try this: 1. Open the file explorer 2. Go to Computer → Windows (C:) → Program Files (x86) → Stencyl 3. Right click on Stencyl.exe 4. Select "Pin to Taskbar" and/or "Pin to Start Menu" |
For this "Learn Stencyl" assignment, complete the following in order. This is not (YET) the time to be creative. Please follow the instructions so that you know the basics of coding in Stencyl. I will be checking your progress periodically in class.

Make sure you download the project file when you start each activity/lesson. IMPORT the project file into Stencyl. You can find downloads here:

You will need to download the assets.zip folder, available in the tutorial, then open a Windows Explorer window, find the file, and right click to EXTRACT it to the desktop. Search YouTube for "Stencyl Crash Course 2" if you would prefer to learn from a video. |
To TURN IN your Crash Course work, you will submit 2 files:
- your Invaders .SWF game file (NOT the .stencyl project file)

- requirements:
- describe/demonstrate one coding concept that you learned or that was made more clear by going through Crash Course 2
- describe/demonstrate one other concept that you learned or that was made more clear by going through Crash Course 2 (could be about code or something else)
- extra credit - describe/demonstrate anything you did that was above and beyond the basic requirements (this could include Crash Course 1 and/or extra challenges in Crash Course 2)
- your entire video should be 1-2 minutes long (for sure less than 3 minutes!)
- save your video with the following settings, and name the file Invaders_YourName
