LEARN: Module 1- Lesson 1: Windows and File Management
A computer can store a great deal of information and just like a huge file cabinet, an orderly method of storage is necessary. Windows is an operating system in which the computer organizes software, allowing you access to create and work with your files. Files are maintained by types and names. They can be stored in a folder that holds a variety of file types. With the use of icons, or symbols that identify a software program, Windows makes it easy to maintain and categorize your files.
In this lesson, you will first become familiar with a computer, the hardware associated with it, and software terms. You will also explore the Windows interface, become familiar with the desktop and file management.
