About Your Instructor

Hello! My name is Melanie Jones and I will be your instructor for this CMS-125 Computer Basics course at Virginia College. 

Just a little bit about me  I am a former IT and Training Operations Manager with companies like Allied Barton, AT&T, Howard Schultz and Lucent Technologies.  I have also worked as a Reporting Analyst, Database Administrator and Computing Consultant. Some might consider it a natural progression to go from training in conference rooms to lecturing in classrooms; I have been teaching since 2001 and I absolutely love it!  Helping to shape the minds and skill sets of great students like yourself is the best job in the world. 

My undergraduate work is in Computer Science and Information Systems and my graduate degree is in Business Management & Leadership.  However, my greatest work has been that of assisting students on the path to rewarding new careers.  I look forward to working with you too.  You do your part and I guarantee, together we will accomplish much!
