SB 13: Shared History Tribal History 101
Native Americans lived in this state long before it became Oregon. How can we teach youth about Oregon history without including the voice of Oregon’s Native American peoples – both past and present? This general lack of knowledge about Native American people extends to curricula - thus Senate Bill 13: Tribal History / Shared History. Come learn about this profound legislative act that supports learning and understanding the Native American experience in Oregon: including tribal history, sovereignty issues, culture, treaty rights, government, socioeconomic experiences and current events.

[1st] Personal Fitness [Weaver]
Students will learn to identify the benefits of fitness for life long health. Personal fitness assessment and improvement will be stressed. Students will workout at home, in their neighborhood or a local gym. Aerobic activities such as walking and jogging will be included. In addition fitness activities involving jump ropes, plyometrics and dumbbells and barbells will be incorporated. Students will demonstrate competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns. The physically literate individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness. The student exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others. The individual recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self expression and/or social interaction.
